9mm Price History - It's no secret that sales of accessories have been volatile (to say the least) since the Covid pandemic took hold, but some trends seem to be falling while others are rising. To keep ammo prices and supplies competitive, Redditor Chainwaxologist, owner of hunting and fishing web store FoundryOutdoors.com, decided to track ammo costs for the most popular guns. Chainwaxologist used their findings to create an interactive chart that shows this behavior in a stop-friendly format to help us visualize the data. You can read Chainwaxologist's review below.

I'm back with more ammo price data. I have an online hunting sales business (FoundryOutdoors.com) so every few days I write down ammo prices on Ammoseek since ammo is a big part of our business. Needless to say, it was a tough year for our ammunition sales with limited inventory available. Since the previous update in June 2021, we have seen a significant drop in price for the June to August cycle, only to return to higher levels in early September, likely due to increased demand from the hunting season. Several groups saw a 25%+ price increase in CPR in August alone, most notably the 308 Win and 7.62x39mm. Other calibers such as 380 Auto, 9mm, and 22LR saw quiet increases, possibly because manufacturers prioritized production of those calibers during the pandemic, leading to increased supply; The fact that these measures are not commonly used in hunting is also likely to help keep demand levels stable. We've seen a 5-20% drop in prices across the board from early September to now, meaning that in most cases the CPR is still 5-10% higher than the low prices we saw in July/August. I have also spoken with many of the largest ammo distributors in the country who unfortunately agree with the prospect of limited ammo supplies and price increases through 2022. The data here is consistent with that view, but perhaps with little hope as prices are now falling again.

I would like to thank Chainwaxologist for his diligence in documenting our problem and for giving us permission to share his photo and insights! Another reader asked about his inclusion of double sided steel ammo, to which Chainwaxologist replied that he strictly takes the top list (lowest price) for each caliber on AmmoSeek.com, which will include steel boxes in the ammo cost calculation, but still gives us a general . general picture of the whole situation.

I was surprised to see that the 7.62×39 was actually going downhill since the Russian production of the ammo was banned. Is there anything about the ammo price chart that surprises you?
